From Crown Service to Woodland Stewards: Our Family’s Journey
Some people say life takes you full circle. For us, leaving Crown service didn’t mark an ending at all—it opened the door to the life we were always meant to live. After years of serving our country, we found ourselves craving something simpler, more grounded, and undeniably more us. The answer was waiting where it had always been: in the woodlands, the wild spaces, and the quiet corners of the outdoors that feel like home.
We’re a tight‑knit family with mud on our boots and curiosity in our pockets. Weekends are spent wandering through ancient woodland, teaching our children how to read the land—how to spot the first flush of mushrooms after rain, how to identify a tree by its bark, how to move through nature with respect and awareness. These lessons aren’t just skills; they’re part of the legacy we want to pass on.
Our love for foraging, exploring, and living close to the land naturally grew into something bigger. We realised there were many people just like us—families, adventurers, beginners, and seasoned wanderers—who wanted quality outdoor gear without the cold, commercial feel of the big stores. People who value knowledge, experience, and a personal touch.
So we built exactly that.
Our one‑stop outdoor store is an extension of who we are: a family that believes in honest kit, real advice, and the kind of service that feels like chatting with an old friend around a campfire. Every product we stock is something we’d use ourselves. Every recommendation comes from lived experience, not a sales script.
This isn’t just a business—it’s a continuation of our service, just in a different uniform. Instead of serving the Crown, we now serve a community of outdoor lovers who share our passion for woodlands, wilderness, and the freedom of the open world.
If you’re someone who feels most alive under a canopy of leaves or with a rucksack on your back, you’re already part of our tribe. And we’re glad you’re here.
